Dr. Roddy Suos (PSY26209) has been in the helping professions since 2005. He is Founder and Director of The Heights: Center for Counseling & Wellness, Inc where he trains burgeoning therapists in the art of psychotherapy.
Dr. Suos has honed his skills at a number of facilities: Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, community mental health clinics throughout Los Angeles and Orange County, and both public and non-public schools. He was formerly affiliated with St. Mary's Medical Center, where he treated individuals with chronic and terminal illnesses, physical disabilities, chronic pain, and addictions. Dr. Suos has specialized training in EMDR and Sensorimotor psychotherapy, both effective in the treatment of trauma and the deleterious effects of psychological and emotional wounds. In addition to being a psychologist, Dr. Suos is a speech-language pathologist. He has rehabilitated individuals of all ages with speech, language, and cognitive impairments. He has also worked with children on the autism spectrum. Dr. Suos is most interested in working with individuals on love and intimacy, helping them cultivate meaningful, rich, and fulfilling connections. Dr. Suos is anything but conventional in his treatment approach. No one size fits all. He draws from many different treatment modalities, philosophies, and a good dose of common sense. |
He brings lightheartedness, laughter, curiosity, and wisdom to his work, because after all, isn't life hard enough as it is? If you're not having fun on this journey to becoming your best self, then what's the point?
When not at the office, Dr. Suos can be found biking on the trails at the beach in Long Beach, kayaking in the Naples' canals, and perfecting the art of espresso.
